The Row Hotel

The Row Hotel at Assembly Row, Autograph Collection is a classy, modern hotel located at the heart of a flourishing urban neighborhood in Somerville, Massachusetts, a part of the Boston area. This was my first time visiting Somerville, just a bit north of the city. And it quickly made itself on my list of hotels to suggest outside of Boston. Staying here allows you to experience the serenity of the outskirts while still being close enough to the city to enjoy the best of both worlds.

The hotel itself has a sleek and inviting vibe and compliments the surrounding area quite well. It’s located right in Assembly Square with amazing shopping, dining, and entertainment options. I had the opportunity to walk around, do some shopping and dine at the local Greek restaurant, Zo Greek, and it was absolutely fabulous! Hotels are always best when they are within walking distance to cool places.

If you’re looking for a great property a little outside the city or perhaps a hotel to book with credit card points, The Row Hotel is a great hotel to consider!

Rooms & Suites

The rooms & suites at The Row Hotel are nothing short of luxury. One of my favorite aspects of the hotel is the fact that you can smell that fresh, delicious hotel lobby scent all the way upstairs in the hallways and into the rooms. Normally, you can only smell that distinct scent in the lobby! I personally am obsessed with hotel lobby scents and believe it makes a huge difference in the overall experience.

At The Row Hotel, you’ll have access to regular guest rooms with a king bed, regular guest rooms with a double queen bed, larger guest rooms with a king bed, 1 bedroom suites with a corner room, and a 1 bedroom suite with a king bed and sofa bed. All of the rooms and suites include luxury mattresses, crisp linens, HDTVs with the ability to stream Netflix, high-speed internet, room service, heartfelt decor, and thoughtful amenities.

The room I stayed in was large, clean, and extremely modern. I also had a spacious bathroom, closet space, a desk to do work. A couch to relax on by the window, a cozy robe, and a mini-fridge for drinks and leftovers. The hallways were quiet and I slept soundly during my stay here!

Hotel Amenities & Services

Amenities you have to look forward to when you come here include a fitness center, spa, indoor pool, hot tub, meeting space, activities for kids. Aconvenience store, dry cleaning service, laundry, service requests, and guest room entertainment.

The fitness center and pool area is my personal favorite feature because of how functional and pristine the spaces are. The fitness center has all the cardio machines and weight lifting equipment. And the pool area was beautiful and very well taken care of. It also leads outside to a patio with chairs to relax. They include towels and endless water bottles in a cold fridge. Which is always an A+ in my book as someone who always likes to be hydrated.

Restaurants

Reflections

For dining options, you’ll have access to the hotel’s onsite restaurant, Reflections, where they serve breakfast and dinner. They have formal seating in the back, lounge seating in the lobby. As well as a fully equipped bar with bar stools, full menus, views of the lobby, and great vibes.

For breakfast, you can either opt for the buffet standard fixed price or order items directly off the menu. I like savory breakfast items. So I decided to get a healthy and hearty meal right off the menu with eggs, potatoes, and toast. They also had fresh water and juice you can brag yourself. It was delish!

Later in the evening, my friend and I sat at the bar before enjoying dinner in lounge seating and had a great time! We ordered The Garden Stroll cocktail with grapefruit, rose petals vodka, elderflower liqueur, lemon juice, agave nectar, and ginger beer as well as their creamy espresso martini. It is one of the best espresso martinis I’ve had.

The dinner menu includes things like soups, snacks, small bites, dishes to share, sandwiches, salads, large platters, and desserts. We went with the pork & cabbage pot stickers, Sunday supper meatball, roasted airline chicken breast, pasta bolognese, and the nocturne strip cake for dessert.

One of my favorite things about living in New England is that there is always something new to discover. This week: Park City in South Boston. 🌿🍹🎶 This outdoor venue has quickly become one of the city’s most popular summer destinations, offering live music, great food and drinks, lawn games, and an atmosphere that makes you forget you’re in the middle of Boston. This venue comes highly recommended from @chronicle5, New England’s trusted guide for finding incredible restaurants, local adventures, hidden gems, and weekend getaways. Every episode is packed with ideas that inspire you to explore somewhere new or revisit a favorite spot. Our first summer in our coastal town 🥹 Cheers to a summer full of sunshine, salty air, beach reads, lobster rolls, ice cream cones, waterfront views, spontaneous plans, late night beach sunsets, and never saying no to going out. New England or nowhere. 🤍 #southshorema #newengland #newenglandsummer

One of the reasons we return to Bar Harbor year after year is that it’s one of the most dog-friendly destinations we’ve visited in New England. 🐾 As someone who believes our dogs deserve to experience as much of life as possible, I love finding destinations where Morgan can join us for the adventure. This trip, we stayed at Mt. Desert Narrows with @thousandtrails, which made the perfect home base for exploring Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, and the surrounding coastline. A Maine lobster dinner is one of those experiences that never gets old. 🦞 Every trip to Bar Harbor includes at least one meal where the lobster is fresh, the views are unbeatable, and the pace of life slows down for a little while.. Stewman’s Lobster Pound checks all the boxes with waterfront dining, classic Maine seafood, and the kind of atmosphere that reminds you why so many people fall in love with coastal Maine. Have you visited Stewman’s before, or do you have another favorite lobster spot in Bar Harbor?🦞 #barharbormaine #visitmaine #newengland #coastalmaine

Bar Harbor, Maine is one of those New England destinations I keep coming back to. And Thousand Trails offers the most comfortable & remote camping experience. @thousandtrails #ad Some of my favorite travel memories involve slowing down and spending time outdoors, so being able to truly connect with nature like this is such a treat. Here you can pitch a tent, rent an RV or stay in a cabin, while soaking in the serene atmosphere. There’s just something special about ending the day around a campfire with s’mores, good conversation, and nothing but the sounds of nature around you. If you’re planning a trip to Maine this season and want a more laid-back way to experience Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, check out Mt Desert Narrows Campground with Thousand Trails. These niche summer feelings can be experienced almost anywhere and I know I’m not alone in feeling giddy when they resurface every year, especially all the “firsts” of the season. Here are a few specific summer things that make me insanely happy: 1. Waking up & getting ready on the first day of vacation down The Cape or the islands.   2. Watching everyone collectively lose their minds on the first 80-something day. 3. Talking and laughing for hours on someone’s back deck or restaurant patio. 4. Saying phrases like, “Can you believe this weather?” and “We earned this.”   5. The first time you drive with your windows down on the way to the beach. 6. Looking for seals every single time you’re near the water. 7. Deciding to go to the beach in the late afternoon instead.   8. The first lobster roll of the season. It’s not summer until you order one of these, even if it’s the only time you do.   9. The smell of the grill, burgers, and hot dogs at a cookout. 10. The first outdoor concert, festival, or town band performance. 11. The buzz you feel in a lively atmosphere after ordering your second Aperol Spritz as the live band warms up. 12. Getting an ice cream cone at the local creamery at dusk in a sweatshirt and shorts 13. Realizing the water is actually warm enough to swim in August. 14. Getting that spontaneous text from a friend: “Do you want to come over for a firepit?” 15. Watching the sunset and thinking “We are so lucky to live here.” But the one that always hurts: hearing someone say, “Summer’s already flying by.” Enjoy your Summer in New England, my friends. It is always fleeting.   What would you add to the list? #newengland #newenglandsummer #coastalliving
