The Danl Webster Inn & Spa Review

The Dan'l Webster Inn & Spa Review

One of my favorite places to visit during off-season is none other than Cape Cod, Massachusetts. While it’s a popular summer destination, the winter is beautiful, cozy and offers plenty to do. One place that you must visit when you come to Cape Cod is The Dan’l Webster Inn & Spa. This hotel has been serving guests for over 300 years and continues to be one of the top boutique hotels in the area. It’s also the perfect destination for business gatherings, vacation, weddings, or just a quick getaway on the Cape.

We visited during the holiday season when the Inn was decked out in holiday decor, it was quieter than usual and the fireplaces were extra cozy. Many locals come here for an awesome dining experience as well as travelers from further away for a little winter getaway. Between the kind staff, cozy tavern, moonlit or sunlit dining room and surrounding area, it makes for a great trip during the colder months.

Located in Sandwich, MA, you’ll find plenty of things to do like The Heritage Museums & Gardens, Piers & Boardwalks,Sandwich Glass Museum, Hoxie House, Scusset Beach State Reservation, Dexter’s Grist Mill and more. It’s a special area with its famous glassware producing, numerous gift and antique shops, art galleries and rare book stores. The Inn is situated in the heart of the historic district of Sandwich and will make it easy to get around and explore.

The Dan'l Webster Inn & Spa Review

The Dan’l Webster Inn & Spa is an excellent hotel located in Sandwich, MA known for its quaint and quintessential atmosphere, representing the Cape Cod vibe perfectly. Being that it’s such a historic property with years of experience, the hospitality is polished, the comfort is upscale and the food is incredible.

When you walk up to the property, you’ll be greeted by an old-fashioned wooden sign, dating the Inn back to 1692. The building itself is made up of colors of white, black and red and resembling that classic New England Colonial-style structure. The inside is more intimate and small with mood lighting and low ceilings. There are beautiful architectural details and art pieces throughout the Inn with connections to the local community.

With 48 guest-rooms to choose from, dining and event spaces to enjoy, you’ll definitely have a great time. It’s become known as one of the most popular hotels in the country, making it a truly iconic place when you visit Cape Cod.

The Romantic Rooms are some of the best at the Inn, in my opinion. The Jarves Wing of the Inn comes with one-room suites with a two-person shower, heated tile floors, a whirlpool in-room jacuzzi, a private balcony and a decorative or gas fireplace. These rooms truly allow you to enjoy a comfortable stay with your partner in luxury. You’ll get to choose from the Fessenden Suites, The Jarves Suites, The Jarves Terrace and The Webster Suite.

Pet-Friendly Guest Rooms

More and more hotels are becoming pet-friendly and The Dan’l Webster Inn & Spa is definitely accommodating of that. The Inn welcomes pets 50 pounds and under and has designated specific rooms for pets. There are a number of rules to review before bringing your pet so be sure to check them out here. In order to book a pet-friendly room, you must call (800) 444-3566.

Handicap Accessible Suites

Handicap Accessible Rooms are a crucial component to any accommodating hotel. The Inn has a Traditional Guest Room which includes a larger bathroom with bars next to the toilet and inside the bathtub, a bench in the bathtub, an extendable handheld showerhead, lower nightstands, a walk-in/roll-in shower with an extendable handheld showerhead, a whirlpool that is lower with no stairs, and a flat front allowing guests to slide in with minimal effort.

The Dan'l Webster Inn Dining

The Dan’l Webster Inn Dining is one of the best hotel dining I’ve experienced with superb meal options, gorgeous and rustic dining rooms, a kind and accommodating staff as well as a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. There are some lovely dining rooms including candle-lit rooms, fireside dining, moonlit or sunlit dining, terrace or patio dining and their cozy tavern that looks like it’s straight out of Hallmark Christmas movie.

As for the cuisine, you can find a mix of contemporary and seasonal dishes for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and dessert. Some delicious breakfast items include eggs and bacon, fresh fruit, French Toast and Banana Foster, Oatmeal Quinoa Pancakes, Prime Rib Hash & more. For lunch you can find things like appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches and burgers. Dinner is fabulous and offers an array of dishes like Shrimp Cocktail, Scallops and Bacon, Cape Cod Lobster Chowder, Dynamite Fish Sandwich, Angus Burgers, Duck, Seared Ahi Tuna, Wok Fired Atlantic Salmon, Pork Pairing and so much more. They also have a fabulous list of cocktails, beer and wine to choose from. As if that isn’t enticing enough, there are also a variety of desserts including dessert martinis and coffees, chocolate layer cake, carrot coconut cake, Crème Brûlée d’ Jour, hot fudge sundae and more.

We had such a great experience sampling many of their signature dishes both flavorful and beautiful in presentation.

It’s a great place for dining if you’re a guest at the hotel or even for a dinner experience locally. I believe that many hotel restaurants are underrated, as they have some of the most character, stories and delicious dishes I’ve tried.

For reference, breakfast is served from 8-11am 7 days a week, lunch is served 11:30-4:30pm 7 days a week and dinner is available Sunday – Thursday from 4:30-8:30pm as well as Friday and Saturday from 4:30-9pm. You can make a reservation for dining here.

My Honest Review Of The Dan'l Webster Inn & Spa

As with most quintessential New England hotels, I felt right at home here. The Inn definitely has an older and more rustic feel to it making it a charming and interesting place to stay. The rooms are stunning, comfortable and have some of the best amenities I’ve seen including heated tile floors in the bathroom, an in-room gas fireplace, a luxurious Jacuzzi bathtub, a huge tiled, walk-in shower and a lovely balcony overlooking Sandwich. The rooms will definitely leave you speechless and delightful in warmth and comfort.

I especially love all the dining options and meals you have available to you. Being able to choose your dining experience and atmosphere is special and very personalized to the kind of vacation you enjoy. The cozy tavern was my personal favorite as it offers a mix of formal and informal dining, being able to enjoy a meal by the fireplace or right at the bar to enjoy some casual conversation and delicious drinks.

Overall, I feel this hotel offers a plethora of luxury experiences between the rooms, amenities, spa, dining and outdoor functions (especially during the summertime), in such a prime location. Cape Cod is a special place and being able to pair your trip with a luxury hotel like The Dan’l Webster Inn & Spa is more than ideal.
