The Coach House Hotel Review
Salem, Massachusetts is hands down one of the coolest places I’ve been. I’ve visited several times now and I just never get sick of going! Despite how small the town is, it boasts a rich history that attracts close to a million visitors a year. As the home of the Salem Witch Trials, the town offers a truly unique, magical, and oftentimes spooky experience. As a Fall and Halloween lover, I can’t get enough of Salem!
The Coach House is a charming and luxurious inn nestled right on the beautiful North Shore of Boston, with proximity to downtown Salem and all the popular attractions. The inn itself offers the perfect balance of old and new for a relaxing vacation, while still paying homage to the city’s rich cultural heritage.
We absolutely loved our stay here, so I knew it had to be added to my collection of hotel reviews!
The Coach House Hotel Review
The Coach House is a historic site located at 284 Lafayette St, Salem, MA 01970, in a prime location in relation to downtown Salem. The building itself is a former Victorian mansion built by a sea captain in 1879. Now with its eclectic history and modern design, you can experience luxury in The Witch City. The exterior is intriguing and inviting and once you open the doors to go inside, it’s a whole different story. Between the detailed decor, touches of black, white, and gold, vintage photos on the walls, and an overall quaint atmosphere, you feel at home.
Check in & Lobby
Stepping inside the inn offers an elegant ambiance upon arrival and it doesn’t end there with regard to the check-in experience. They have an awesome no-contact method when checking in so you’ll get a code to enter the inn as well as your room during your entire stay. The inn is rather quiet, but it’s perfect for a trip where you want to experience comfort and luxury with the main focus on exploring Salem. Their check-in times are especially convenient as you can access the inn starting at 3pm on your check-in day and check-out at 11am when you leave. The extra hour is always super appreciated and more hotels should get on board with that!
Walking around the inn as a whole is a wonderful experience because the walls and stairs have historical elements to them, there are beautiful light fixtures and decor throughout, as well as an epic photo wall on the second floor with a neon sign that says “witch you were here.” Such a great way to remember your experience at The Coach House!
Rooms
While the lobby and hallways are absolutely stunning, the rooms are to die for. With beautiful tributes to the past, modern luxuries, and an overall vibe that screams “Salem luxury” it’s truly a wonderful experience. We stayed in a gorgeous King Suite, with a plush memory foam mattress king bed, Frette Linens, a seating area with chic furniture, a black fireplace with LED candles in the middle, a mirrored vanity area, a floor to ceiling tile shower, Frette towels, and C.O. Bigelow toiletries as well as complimentary coffee and Kureig coffee maker.
The room is brightly lit, functional, cozy, and elegant with the decor and cleanliness made to perfection. We loved starting our day here with breakfast and coffee and ending our evenings with a little late-night snack and shows. You can hear the traffic outside a bit in the morning, but it wasn’t too noticeable, especially with black shades to darken the room and keep it cozy.
Other rooms you have available to you include a Classic Queen, Full Suite, Queen Suite, King Suite, and Luxe Queen Suite.
Hotel Amenities & Services
The hotel itself is outstanding with regard to decor, cleanliness, and comfort but does not offer a ton of amenities. However, you do have your own personal concierge that you can contact at any time, should you need anything! The Coach House Inn offers:
- Smart TV
- Central Air Conditioning & Heat
- Frette Linens & Towels
- C.O Bigelow Toiletries
- Kureig Coffee Maker
- Personal Concierge
- Hairdryer Iron
- Free parking on premises (first come, first serve). This is prime, especially in Salem where parking can be a bit tricky! If the hotel parking lot is full, you can also park on the street nearby for free.
The Coach House Salem Hotel Review
Overall, we had a fabulous experience at The Coach House from beginning to end. I knew this inn was going to be great but was even more impressed when I realized how detailed and clean the property is. Once I took a tour of the hotel I said to myself “they get it.” I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels in my blogging career and can say that they definitely put energy into the things that matter most here. Between the stunning architecture, a beautiful combination of colors, cozy bed, modern decor elements, and overall fun and safe atmosphere, I would highly recommend this inn for your trip to Salem!
