Pacific Crest Hotel Review

Pacific Crest Hotel Review

Featuring Pacific Crest Hotel, a small, cozy, charming and local-owned property residing on East Beach in Santa Barbara. This convenient, practical and beach-chic hotel is in the perfect location for those looking to experience beach-life and local culture, simultaneously. One element that stood out the most to us about this hotel prior to booking, was the raving reviews online. Everyone had such amazing things to say about the owners and their experience at this hotel. These great compliments were confirmed once we saw for ourselves. The owners and staff are extremely kind, attentive and laid-back. They shared personal stories, gave great suggestions of things to do in the area and made us feel right at home. If you want to experience Santa Barbara with a simple, affordable, intentional and extremely clean hotel, this is the place to be.

The small 20-room layout of the hotel makes for easy navigation with a beautiful heated pool right in the middle. The rooms range from queen, king and double queen, all equipped shower essentials, mini-fridges, lounge areas, TVs and coffee makers. This hotel is perfect for quick romantic getaways with the intention of being outdoors at the beach and exploring the local area.

“Charming Santa Barbara Boutique Hotel on East Beach”

Pacific Crest Hotel is owned and operated by Santa Barbara locals. For a true Santa Barbara local experience, the small 20 room hotel is the place to stay. The super clean rooms have a beachy-chic feeling while not being overdone. The hotel is only a ½ block from Santa Barbara’s famous East Beach and a short walk to Stearn’s Wharf, State Street and the new Funk Zone.

This mid-century building boasts an 80+ degree heated pool in the middle of the property, adding a very special feature to your overall experience.

In the mornings, Santa Barbara Roasting Company Coffee will be waiting in your room. From 8:00-9:30am they also offer coffee and a light continental breakfast. The quaint beach-side location is just minutes from shopping, dining and local attractions like the Urban Wine Trail, Santa Barbara Bowl, Channel Islands National Park, and Stearn’s Wharf and the Santa Barbara Zoo.

Price PER NIGHT

Nightly average cost is $155-$175.

Vibe Check

A very quiet, quaint and clean place to enjoy some relaxation in peace while being in proximity to the beach and downtown life. The staff and guests are all kind, respectful and accommodating.

Comfort Level

On a scale of 1-5 (5 being the best), the comfort level is at a 4. The bed was clean and comfortable, the room was an ideal size and the area itself was quiet and relaxing.

Views to expect on Property

Being that the hotel is only 2 stories high, you do have the option to overlook the pool from your room, but otherwise there isn’t much to see in all other windows.

Dining

While there isn’t any onsite dining options, there are a ton of places close-by as suggested in the “things to do in the area” section.

Best Instagram Spots

The pool/lounge area and the lounge chair in the room are the best options for photo opps.

Accommodations & aMENITIES

Accommodations include queen, king and double queen rooms, plush bedding, mini-fridges, HD TVs and in-room coffee.

special oFFERS

The hotel recommends booking direct with them to receive discounts coupons for use locally in Santa Barbara. You may also be able to get discounts on room rates.

Local Culture

Santa Barbara is an extremely laid-back beach town with strong culture and community. The classic Spanish colonial architectural and red-tile roof make for a stunning skyline. In Santa Barbara, you’ll find colorful murals, galleries, multiple theaters with a variety of live performances, art and culture. Santa Barbara is known for having a strong sense of community, prime agricultural land, award winning wineries, and attractive cultural and tourism opportunities.

Best Season to visit

The best time to visit Santa Barbara is March to May and then September to November.

Things to do in the area

Santa Barbara has a ton to offer for everyone. It’s convenient having the beach, outdoor parks and bustling downtown area all in one place, easily accessible by foot or bike.

Here are a few suggestions for things to do during your stay:

  • Have breakfast at The Shop Kitchen.
  • Take advantage of the heavy bike culture and get some bikes to navigate your way around the beach and downtown area.
  • Eat lunch at Bluewater Grill for seafood and stunning views of the beach on their rooftop.
  • Spend time at Santa Barbara Beach Pier watching the waves roll in or the skaters skateboard at the park like you’re in an episode of Rocket Power.
  • Grab some wood-fired pizza and cold beer at Lucky Penny.
  • Get some dinner at the Finney’s, the bustling downtown street-seating gastropub.
  • Enjoy wine-tasting at Municipal Winemakers.

So long, sweet summer 💔 It is rare to be able to fully anticipate the outcome of our decisions. There are always pros and cons. Upsides and downsides. And there’s always the question of, “what if this doesn’t work out?” But one thing I knew going into it, was just how much we would love living in a coastal Massachusetts town. I never had a doubt. I knew from day one this would be the best decision we ever made. And it was. #southshorema #coastallife #coastallifestyle #coastalliving #paradiseonearth

Welcome to Gloucester, Massachusetts 🌊🦞🛟 Gloucester is one of the most beautiful coastal places on the north shore and one of my favorite places in general! There’s so much to do year-round but summer and early fall is when the area really shines. Here’s a few things I suggest doing: 🏨Stay or grab a meal and a cocktail at @beauport_hotel - It is hands down one of my favorite places in Mass. A pool or beach day here will make all your summer dreams come true 🚶‍♀️Check out the coffee shops and boutique stores downtown - Right within walking distance from Beauport! 🚘 Drive along Atlantic Road - A scenic route that winds along the coast, offering breathtaking views of the ocean and rocky coastline. ⛱️ Visit Niles Beach - A popular spot for swimming, sunbathing, and picnicking in Gloucester. The beach is located in a quiet, residential area and offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. 🛥️ Book a boating excursion - Gloucester is a great place to go boating, and there are many companies that offer boating excursions for tourists. You can choose from a variety of options, including whale watching, fishing, and sightseeing tours. 🏰 Explore Hammond Castle - A medieval-style castle located on the coast of Gloucester. The castle was built in the 1920s by John Hays Hammond Jr., a wealthy inventor, and features an impressive collection of art and antiques. ⚓️ Check out Fisherman’s Memorial - A statue located in Gloucester that pays tribute to the city’s fishing industry. The statue features a fisherman looking out to sea, and it is a popular spot for taking photos. 🪨 Check out Rafe’s Chasm - A natural wonder located on the coast of Gloucester. The chasm is a narrow crevice in the rocks that leads to a small cove where you can see the waves crashing against the shore. 🦪 Get dinner at Seaport Grille - A popular waterfront restaurant in Gloucester that serves fresh seafood and other local specialties. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating with stunning views of the harbor! ✔️Save this for your adventures on the north shore of Massachusetts! #northshorema #gloucester #gloucesterma #capeann #
