The Loews Boston Hotel

Loews Boston Hotel Review

As someone who spends a lot of time in Boston now, I can honestly say it is one of my favorite cities. It’s one of the most beautiful, architecturally stunning, historic and magical cities in the United States and its obvious why. Between its seasonal changes, historic buildings, brick and cobblestone streets, rich culture and bustling nightlife, it truly offers an amazing experience no matter what you’re looking to do.

Loews Hotels is a luxury hotel brand made up of 26 distinctive and pet-friendly hotels around the United States and Canada. Their whole messaging is around “welcoming you like family” because they believe hospitality come from the heart. The hotels are designed with work and play in mind. Allowing you to have a well-rounded experience whether solo, with friends and family or coworkers.

The Loews Boston Hotel is a 4-star hotel located at 154 Berkeley St in Back Back, Boston. As the former police headquarters and one of the top luxury hotels in Boston, it offers a plethora of things to look forward to. With 225 spacious luxury guest-rooms you’ll be pleasantly surprised with how intimate the hotel feels because of the layout. A few key features of the hotel includes being in proximity to key city attractions & prestigious colleges, the large outdoor, aesthetically pleasing patio connected to the onsite restaurant, an awesome option for events & meetings and offers family-friendly services and amenities.

Loews Boston Hotel Review

Loews Boston Hotel is located at 154 Berkeley Street in Back Bay, Boston and is in proximity to some great attractions. It’s about a 15-20 minute ride from the airport, a 6-minute walk from the T-subway and a 9-minute walk to Boston Common Park.

One of the staff members described the hotel as a place that isn’t a stuffy or prime busy location in Boston but has enough charm and city-vibes to have a more laid-back city experience. She was right! I loved how the surrounding area felt quieter than other parts of the city. But at the same time there’s so much going on in the surrounding area. As one of the most preserved 10th-century urban design in the United States, Back Bay is known for its rows of Victorian brownstone houses and historical charm. In this area you’ll find the Boston Public Library, the John Hancock Tower, Boston Architectural College, aesthetically-pleasing side streets and a ton of awesome restaurants and bars.

I believe the Loews Boston Hotel sets itself apart from other luxury hotels because of the location and the onsite restaurant.

You have a truly unique experience getting to stay in the former police headquarters while dining under the stars. The exterior of the hotel is grand and inviting with Loews flags and stairs leading to the outdoor patio on both sides of the entryway. The patio is decorated with white string lights, tables and chairs and lounge areas for mingling once the restaurant opens. On the inside you’ll find a more moody atmosphere with dark accents, historical photos of the hotels past as well as an inviting lobby, common area and stairs leading to the restaurant.

Overall, the ambiance feels extremely historic, contemporary and professional. I saw families, couples, pets and corporate folks walking about. Especially at night, which made for an interesting and lively atmosphere.

Precinct Kitchen + Bar by Loews

Precinct Kitchen + Bar was hands-down the best experience at the hotel. I loved the menu, staff, ambiance, access both indoors and outdoors and the overall atmosphere on a Boston city night. This contemporary American food with a seafood focus eatery has both formal indoor dining with a gorgeous fireplace and laid-back outdoor patio dining with white string lights. The restaurant expands the entire size of the hotel on the ground floor. And has access to the hotel as well as the outside street.

As an event planner, I especially love how customizable and configurable the space is for large meetings and events. It’s clear that Precinct attracts corporate folks close-by and far away to host gatherings, happy hours and meetings.

The menu is said to celebrate Boston’s rich cultural history and focuses on the heritage and evolution of classic Boston cooking and hospitality. Here you’ll find light bites, charcuterie & cheese boards, flatbreads and protein dishes and amazing speciality cocktails, wines and beers. For dinner we went with the charcuterie & cheese board, crab cakes and the classic fish and chips. So delicious and flavorful! As for cocktails I tried the Cucumber Jalapeno Margarita (asked for it to be less spicy) and the Patron Paloma. Ended the meal with a notorious chocolate lava cake and it did not disappoint. Super rich and full of chocolate.

Loews Boston Hotel Review

Staying at The Loews Boston Hotel was a great time as it allowed me to indulge in an iconic luxury hotel chain and explore a new area of the city. Between the hospitality, comfortable, well-lit rooms, dining experience and atmosphere, I felt that I had an intimate and cozy experience. I especially love the surrounding area as there’s plenty of things to do and other restaurants and bars to check out within walking distance.

The hotel itself is large but the actual lobby, apothecary and common areas are much smaller in comparison. So when you walk into the hotel it doesn’t offer that “wow” factor that other hotels can sometimes offer. The guest-room was lovely and I especially enjoyed the space and shower in the bathroom. The windows had great lighting and offered views of the streets that make you feel more connected to the city. The bed was extremely plush and comfortable and the robes were soft and cloud-like.

Precinct Kitchen + Bar was my personal favorite experience of the hotel as it offers a superb dining menu, vibes and atmosphere for anyone looking to have a good time.

Generally speaking the hotel was very quiet during the day and picked up speed at night when the restaurant was open which was a nice and exciting change of pace. In my opinion, this hotel is best for couples, families and corporate folks that want a historic place to stay, eat and drink but also have a packed schedule of things to do in the city.

Stepping into my “it’s almost spring” era. 🌷✨ Moving to a coastal town at the tail end of fall was an interesting time because it was freezing within a week of being here. Meaning, we have yet to experience a true summer on the coast. Prepare to be sick of me because I don’t think I’ll ever shut up about living in such a beautiful place. Home is where the ocean is.🌊 #plymouthma #southshorema #coastalliving

If you’re interested in transforming your smile, I can’t recommend @plymouth_orthodontics enough. From day one, every visit has felt comfortable, effortless, and honestly fun. The team genuinely listens to your concerns, explains every step, and brings such a high level of expertise to the process. And yes, it’s completely painless. Of course, I wanted a more aesthetic smile. But Invisalign isn’t just cosmetic. It’s about long-term dental health, proper alignment, improving your bite, preventing uneven wear, reducing strain on your jaw, and helping you avoid bigger (and more expensive) issues down the road. And the technology is SO advanced. You get custom aligners made specifically for your teeth, fewer in-office visits, the ability to remove them to eat and brush, and tools to track your progress at home. I’m not going to lie…I fully geek out over this stuff and love that we have amazing options like this available to us. If you’ve been putting it off, don’t! Future you will be very happy you started now. Use my name when booking your consultation at Plymouth Orthodontics and you’ll get $250 off your treatment. You’re welcome. 😌🦷✨ #plymouthma #southshoremass #southshorema

New England destinations worth visiting in the Spring. 🌷 After a record breaking blizzard in Massachusetts, we all need a little to look forward to. Here’s some of my favorite places: 📍Rockport, MA - THE quintessential New England coastal town. This is the number one place I tell people to go when they are visiting Boston and still want to see the coast. The shops, art scene and restaurants are phenomenal. We love staying at @addisonchoate. 📍Burlington, VT - The foodie town that everyone needs to visit at least once. Love the local cuisine, breweries, downtown energy and outdoor scene. We love staying at @essexresortspa. 📍Newport, RI - A stunning beach town to visit before the crowds hit. Love Newport for its mansions, outdoor hikes and events. The Oyster and Chowder Festival is a must! We love staying at @hotelvikingnewport. 📍North Conway, New Hampshire - My favorite area in New Hampshire with so many beautiful surrounding towns, parks and outdoor adventures. We love staying at @omnimountwashington. 📍Cape Cod, MA - Another gem in the spring since the crowds haven’t quite hit, yet there’s still so much to do between the historic landmarks, water activities, and outdoor dining. We love staying at @pelhamhospitality. Who’s ready for spring travel?🌷 #newengland #newenglandliving #newenglandtravel
