Addison Choate Hotel Review
Addison Choate Inn is a luxury bed & breakfast boutique hotel located in the heart of Rockport, Massachusetts. While the original housing structure of the hotel was built in 1851, it was just renovated and restored in 2019. The hotel still captures that historic charm but has now been upgraded to a more modern and eclectic approach that provides the perfect retreat in New England.
Whether you’re looking to take a leisurely stroll on the beach, ride bikes around town, check out the quaint shops, eat at the delicious restaurants or watch the sun go down, there’s plenty to do in the area and Addison Choate makes it convenient to do all of these things within walking distance.
The town of Rockport in itself is a beautiful coastal New England town on the north shore of Boston that is absolutely worth the visit! While the busy season is through the summer, it’s quaint and cozy to visit year-round.

Addison Choate Hotel Guest Rooms
One of the most authentic parts about Addison Choate is the intimate, small-hotel feel it provides. The hotel has 7 rooms, each with their own unique decor and layout, while all still encompassing that classic beach & coastal style. I love how the rooms feel historic yet modern at the same time between the architecture, wood framings, wood floors, marble bathrooms and stylish carpets and decor.
We stayed in The Crow’s Nest, the 3rd-floor luxury space where you can see stunning views of the town and Rockport Harbor in the distance. This VIP room comes with a plush king-size bed, marble bathroom, two oversized windows for natural lighting, closet space, 2 robes, and a living room area with a flat screen TV. Amenities we had access to include a mini-fridge, a daybed, Beekman 1802 toiletries, a hair dryer, coffee maker with Peets Coffee, complimentary pellegrino water, and an awesome diffuser with Young Living Essential Oils.
Other rooms you have access to include Wide Berth, Above Board, Even Keel, Lost Sailor, Cut & Run and The Dog Watch. All rooms are uniquely designed to craft an amazing experience for you and your loved ones. You really can’t go wrong with any of the choices.
You can check in to the hotel anytime between 3-7pm and check out is at 11am.
While I personally don’t have any VIP upgrades to offer for Addison Choate, I do have my own hotel booking tool where you can book your hotels and/or get access to my trusted luxury travel advisor who can help book your hotel and trip.
Addison Choate Hotel Amenities
Being that Addison Choate is such a small and intimate hotel, the amenities are quite limited but still offer special touches throughout your stay. Each room includes a private bath, plush towels, bathrobes, luxury bath products. Hair dryer, a flat screen TV and a diffuser with essential oils.
In addition to the beautiful rooms you’ll stay in, breakfast is included and can be customized based on a few items they serve. You’ll get a little door hanger in your room where you can fill out your selections. And leave it on the table in the main lounge of the hotel. Breakfast includes continental items like hard boiled eggs, yogurt and granola, fruit, bagels and cream cheese, croissants, juices, teas and coffee. It’s a great start to your day!
In the afternoons, you can enjoy some sweet treats like cookies and fresh baked goods with coffee and tea served on cooler evenings.

Addison Choate Hotel Review
Addison Choate is definitely the place to stay in Rockport. Especially if you’re looking to support a small business and want a more authentic, intimate and coastal experience. Aside from the thoughtful touches around the property, the historic charm, the modern decor, the comfortable rooms and the proximity to downtown, the hospitality is truly what makes this place shine. The owner, Marshall, was so kind, considerate and helpful during our trip. We made personal connections. And were able to have a better trip because of our accommodations, suggestions and insight on the town of Rockport.
We definitely had a great stay and a very pleasant experience throughout the entire weekend.
We loved the room we stayed in the most. The Crow’s Nest 3rd floor room was spacious, functional, and unique in shape and design. It allowed me to capture great content as a hotel blogger with its natural light and dynamic throughout the space. I also absolutely loved the diffusers available in every room of the hotel. It offers such a mindful and relaxing atmosphere with scents that soothe your mind and body. An absolute must for vacation if you ask me!
While I typically prefer a more interesting and filling breakfast in the morning, I was totally satisfied and happy with the delicious fruit, yogurt and granola offered. As well as the bagels and croissants. We had a pretty packed schedule during our stay. And it made for a very convenient meal on the go.
Overall, we loved this hotel and surrounding area. We stayed at the hotel in April during a warm spring weekend and were able to watch the sunset over the harbor from our window with snacks and champagne in hand. Just enjoying life and admiring one of my favorite parts of Massachusetts. The iconic north shore. I highly recommend pairing this experience with Addison Choate, if you want to do it like the locals do.
