Inn at Hastings Park Lexington
The Inn at Hastings Park located in Lexington Massachusetts is just 15 minutes outside the Boston area, making it an ideal location, especially if you’re coming from the city or want to visit both during your trip. In fact, it’s only a 5 minute walk to the famous Lexington battle green among many other historic locations that you can access by foot. The Inn is also an 1888 Relais & Châteaux property composed of three exquisitely restored historic buildings that have been lovingly preserved, making it an ideal location for history buffs, academic patriots, literary enthusiasts, solo travelers and couples.
Since the Inn is so tied up in American history, Inn-keeping itself is a very important aspect of the hotel. During colonial times, inns and taverns played a key role in the community by offering travelers a place to rest, eat and shelter from the harsh New England weather. These inns started serving as hubs for business, socializing, politics and generally a place to relax and enjoy yourself. The Inn gets its name from Maria Hastings, a beloved philanthropist, who lived in Lexington in the nineteenth century and had a passion for books. Her love of reading and libraries, inspired her to open Lexington’s public library which had a positive and uplifting impact on the community. Maria was very fond of Lexington and folklore and it is said that her happy ghost still wanders the neighborhood until this day.

My honest review of the Inn at Hastings park
I stayed at the Inn at Hastings Park for 1 night in early June and it was definitely a memorable experience. I was greeted upon arrival, felt comfortable and at-home right away and absolutely loved my suite. The room itself felt like a room you’d love to wake up in every day with beautiful greenery as wallpaper, a lounge chair and a large plush bed that I slept great in. The bathroom was extremely luxurious with amazing bathroom products and marble all over. One unique aspect of the room that stood out to me was their mini refreshment center. They had a good variety of complimentary snacks and beverages for all times of the day. Overall, I felt very comfortable staying here and wished I had more time.
The rest of the Inn itself is exactly what you’d expect it to be after seeing the photos. Quaint, clean, historic and authentic. Each room, from the stairs, to the dining room, to the bar and the backyard, were all great atmospheres and spaces to spend time in. My favorite part about the Inn are the events they host. It’s so special to that such a luxury hotel hosts and entertains for different celebrations and holidays.
Whether I’m in the Culinary Garden with wood tables, plants, flowers, white string lights, sipping quality rosé and watching the stars come out or staying cozy in the INNgloo Wonderland where you’ll find firepits, holiday drinks, festive decor and music I’m always having a good time. Between the gourmet meals, wine parings, educational conversations and good company, you can’t go wrong with events here.
Overall, I had a very pleasant experience here and feel that the quality of service and the inn has a whole is superior to many inns I’ve stayed at before. The average guest room rate is $325 per night and I highly recommend this hotel to seasonal New England travelers, history buffs, artists, writers and couples looking to experience a historically romantic and classy setting with access to all the finer things.
